CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV)- Another round of strong storms is brewing for the Charlotte area Friday evening.

WBTV Meteorologist Al Conklin says there is a high likelihood of strong storms and flash fooding from heavy downpours this evening.

Temperatures will remain warm and humid, with highs in the 80s, Conklin said, with the chance for severe weather popping up during the afternoon and evening hours.

Storms could linger well into the night, as it remains mild and muggy overnight with lows near 70, Conklin said.

The threat for more rain and severe weather will linger into the weekend as a cold front moves across the region on Saturday.

Conklin said things will calm down on Sunday, Conklin said.
