The herd has dwindled, but one donkey and one elephant remain in the wilds of Uptown Charlotte’s EpiCentre.
24 specially-marked donkey and elephant toy animals were hidden throughout the EpiCentre and its resident businesses on July 30 as part of a public scavenger hunt, and all but two have been captured.
Each ‘political animal’ is redeemable for two tickets to Discovery Place, one of North Carolina’s most visited and beloved educational destinations, in the heart of the Democratic National Convention’s host city.
The free tickets include entry to the National Geographic Crittercam: The World Through Animal Eyes exhibition, plus two tickets to Discovery Place’s Charlotte Observer IMAX Dome Theatre to see polar bears frolic in To The Arctic or the dinosaurs roar in Sea Rex. (Note: The IMAX tickets are not valid for The Dark Knight Rises.)
Clues to the whereabouts of the remaining donkey and elephant will be posted beginning Tuesday, August 7 on the two large Orange Barrel Media digital billboards located at Trade and College Streets at the EpiCentre. More clues will be posted as needed until the rogue animals are found.
The animals are tagged with information about how to redeem them for Discovery Place and IMAX tickets. Lucky winners should bring their animals to the Museum for redemption as soon as possible so that news of their capture can be made public. Follow Discovery Place on Facebook (facebook.com/discoveryplace) and Twitter (@discoveryplace) for scavenger hunt updates as the search continues.
